Blue Pear Bistro's famous braised short ribs.
The Blue Pear Bistro is the new restaurant from the Dilworthtown Inn.
Located next to the Inn, the Blue Pear is a modern American bistro featuring a playfully inventive and delicious comfort foods. Comprised of small and medium plates, the menu mirrors the changing season with fresh locally grown and raised ingredients.
Housed in the former Dilworthtown General Store, the 18th century threshold unveils a 21st century bistro. Radiating with iridescent hues of gold and amber, the stylish bistro's interior kindles the restaurant's laid-back aura. A wall of crushed gold glass shimmers behind the mahogany bar. Upstairs, the chocolate leather settees summon lounging and relaxation. Outdoor dining on the front porch calms the pace of village passersby.
The Blue Pear Bistro's name was inspired from the history of the Dilworth farm. The Chester County Historical Society's registry states the first pear tree in the region was planted behind the Dilworthtown General store. Known for its vibrant fruit, this pear tree seeded orchards throughout the Brandywine valley. In addition, the base of the tree was adorned with broken cobalt blue glass - thus the name the "Blue Pear" was born. Historically, pears symbolize longevity and affection; while the color blue represents peace, tranquility, stability, harmony, trust and truth. It is our intent this historical landmark will last another 250 years and that our new bistro the "Blue Pear" will offer passersby respite and relaxation.
